Tulsi vivah story english

Why is Kartik considered the most sacred month for the gods? Why is Tulsi Vivah celebrated in this month? And why is it said that worship of Lord Vishnu is incomplete without Tulsi? Today, listen to the story that even God had to repent. This tale is not only about love but also about righteousness, sacrifice, and salvation. Mother Tulsi’s real name was Vrinda. She was born into a clan of demons. Vrinda was an ardent devotee of Lord Vishnu.

Tulsi vivah story english – Long ago, due to Lord Shiva’s anger, a particle of fire fell into the ocean. From that fire was born the demon Jalandhar. He possessed Shiva’s radiance. He was powerful, arrogant, and a formidable warrior.

His wife was Vrinda, an ascetic and devoted wife. Through the power of Vrinda’s chastity, Jalandhar became invincible, and even the gods bowed before him. The gods were terrified. They prayed to Lord Vishnu, “Lord, as long as Vrinda’s chastity remains unbroken, no one will be able to defeat Jalandhar.

” Vishnu knew that if Jalandhar remained alive, unrighteousness would spread. He made a difficult decision to protect righteousness. He assumed the form of Jalandhar and appeared before Vrinda. Vrinda saw her husband and worshipped him with devotion. But as soon as her chastity was broken, Jalandhar fell on the distant battlefield, killed.

When Vrinda realized the truth, her spirit broke. Tears welled in her eyes, and Vishnu cursed on her lips. Just as my chastity was broken, you too will suffer separation from your wife. It was this curse that took birth ages later in the form of Sita’s abduction.

Vrinda entered the fire, and where her ashes fell, a sacred plant, Tulsi, grew. To give peace to Vrinda’s soul, Lord Vishnu said, “O Vrinda, you will now be called Tulsi Devi. My worship will remain incomplete without you, and I will personally grant salvation to anyone who offers me Tulsi leaves.

” To atone for his sins, Vishnu himself married Tulsi on Shukla Ekadashi of Kartik month, the day when the gods wake up on Devothani Ekadashi after four months of rest. From that day till today, Tulsi Vivah is performed every year in Kartik month and it is believed that the Devdaan bath and the sins of many births on this day wash away. This is the same month when the grace of Vishnu, the power of Shiva and the devotion of Tulsi together fill this earth with light. If you also light a lamp near Tulsi in this Kartik month, the blessings of Vishnu himself will shimmer in that light.
